Privacy Policy for Vora: Snapping Ingredients into Ideas

Vora is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.

Information We Collect

Vora allows you to take a photo of your fridge to identify ingredients and generate meal suggestions. Here is exactly what happens to your data:

• Photos: When you take a photo of your fridge, that photo is temporarily sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic’s Claude API) to identify the ingredients visible in the image and generate meal suggestions. The photo is not stored permanently by us or by the third-party service after processing, and it is deleted from your device once processing is complete.
• No accounts: Vora does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
• No location data: Vora does not access or collect your location.
• No analytics or tracking: Vora does not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting tools. We do not track your usage, behavior, or activity within the app.
• No advertising: Vora does not display ads and does not use your data for advertising purposes.

How We Use Your Information

The only data processed by the app — your fridge photo — is used solely to:

1. Identify ingredients visible in the photo.
2. Generate meal suggestions and recipes based on those ingredients.

This processing is performed via the Claude API (provided by Anthropic). Once the app receives the results, the photo is deleted and is not retained by us.

Third-Party Services

Vora uses the Claude API (Anthropic) to analyze fridge photos and generate meal suggestions. Photos are sent to this service only for the purpose of processing your request and are not stored long-term by Vora. Please refer to Anthropic’s Privacy Policy for details on how Anthropic handles data sent to its API.

We do not use any other third-party services, SDKs, or integrations.

Data Storage

Vora does not maintain a history of past photos or scans. All photos are deleted after processing. We do not operate servers that store your personal data, and we do not retain copies of your photos.

Usage Limits

Vora limits the number of fridge scans (API calls) available to each user on a weekly basis. This limit is enforced locally within the app and does not involve collecting or storing personal data beyond what’s described above.

Children’s Privacy

Vora does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal data, require accounts, or use tracking, it does not knowingly target or collect information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Because Vora does not create accounts, store personal data, or retain your photos, there is no persistent personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. Each photo you take is processed and then discarded.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
